Madhuri Dixit was born Madhuri Shankar Dixit 15 May 1967 is an Indian Bollywood actress. She appeared in numerous commercial successes, and was recognized for more performances and dance numbers in various films. Dixit is often quoted in the media as one of the most prominent female actress in Bollywood.

Madhuri Dixit made her debut in Abodh in 1984. Dixit starred in Indra Kumar's romantic drama together Dil Aamir Khan. Dixit appearance in the Beta, a woman married to an illiterate, well-intentioned man who exposes his scheming mother-in-law, won his second Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

Madhuri Dixit married Shriram Madhav Nene, a UCLA-trained cardiovascular surgeon who practices in Denver. She has two sons, Arin and Raayan. She has two elder sisters, Rupa and Bharati and an elder brother, Ajit. Madhuri and her family are based in Denver, Colorado, USA.
